A two-years extendable post-doctoral fellowship is available at the Host-Pathogen Laboratory of the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Padova (web site: www.biomed.unipd.it) to study the molecular and cellular basis of the degeneration of nerve terminal by different types of toxins and the ensuing regeneration with particular emphasis on the neuromuscular junction and on the role of Schwann cells. The project will be carried out using in vitro and ex-vivo preparations and will make use of advanced molecular and cell biology and imaging techniques.

We are looking for a motivated, newly graduated, person with a great interest for scientific research and capability to interact in a team work. He/she will operate in the stimulating environment of the Vallisneri building of the University of Padova in a friendly atmosphere.

The candidate should have a solid background in cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry and imaging. Experience with animal models is desirable, but not required.
