Two FP7-HEALTH EEC funded post-doctoral position

Two FP7-HEALTH EEC funded post-doctoral position for young, enthusiastic scientists, are available in the laboratory of Dr. Silvia Brunelli, Division of Regenerative Medicine -DIBIT HSR, Milano and Prof. Emilio Clementi, University of Milano.

The research focus is on muscle regeneration and myogenic stem cells characterization in transgenic mouse models, in the framework of the FP7 Collaborative project Endostem "Activation of vasculature associated stem cells and muscle stem cells for the repair and maintenance of muscle tissue"

Candidates with a strong background in molecular biology, developmental biology, genetics and holding a PhD, or equivalent degree, are encouraged to apply. Experience in mouse genetics is preferred but not required.

Fellowship at Department of Neuroscience

Ph.D. students - Center for Brain Research, Medical University of Vienna

Graduate student

The research group of Michael Kiebler (Center for Brain Research, Medical University of Vienna) is looking for enthusiastic, committed, and talented Ph.D. students who wish to join. We offer a very international environment with English being the language spoken in the laboratory.
A fellowship for up to three years is offered.

The main focus of the laboratory is dendritic RNA transport and translational control in polarized neurons (Kiebler, M.A., DesGroseillers, L., Neuron 25(1):19-28, 2000; Kiebler, M.A., Bassell, G.J., Neuron 51(6):685-690, 2006; see website).
Technical approaches include neuronal cell culture, confocal and time-lapse microscopy, molecular biology, and biochemistry. Two projects are offered: (i) real-time imaging of RNA in living neurons and (ii) biochemical isolation of neuronal granules.

E' necessaria la Laurea in Biologia o in Biotecnologie o in Biologia Cellulare e dello Sviluppo o in Genetica o in Biologia molecolare.

E' necessario conoscere tecniche di biologia cellulare e molecolare. E' richiesto un periodo di prova di almeno 1 mese.
L'interesse del laboratorio verte sullo studio dei meccanismi di regolazione genica e delle vie di traduzione del segnale coinvolte nel danno epatico.
