Cari colleghi, Vorrei segnalarvi il nuovo portale web SIBBM/Zanichelli SARS-CoV-2: frontiere della ricerca, prodotto dalla SIBBM e edito da Zanichelli, che raccoglie una serie di contributi sulla biologia del virus e altro ancora in capitoli tutti scaricabili gratuitamente, in versione italiana e inglese. “Il portale nasce con lo scopo di soddisfare la necessità di chiare informazioni riguardo a SARS-CoV-2 e COVID-19.
Grazie al contributo di scienziate e scienziati italiani, appartenenti a diverse discipline, il portale è stato progettato in particolare per il pubblico universitario, ma è indirizzato a tutte quelle persone che desiderano una fonte affidabile di informazioni, riportate, per quanto possibile, in un linguaggio non tecnico.
Partendo dalle origini e dalla biologia molecolare del virus, arrivando alle sue manifestazioni cliniche, attraversando le sue caratteristiche epidemiologiche, per arrivare all’impatto psicologico e sociale della pandemia, il portale fornisce una visione d’insieme del mondo di SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 e di come abbia cambiato le nostre vite” (dall’introduzione scritta da Barbara Illi).
L’intero progetto è stato coordinato da Valeria Poli, Presidente della SIBBM e docente di Biologia Molecolare all’Università di Torino, e Barbara Illi (CNR, Roma), che ne ha anche scritto molti capitoli.

I would like to drive your attention to the SIBBM-Zanichelli SARS-CoV-2: Research Frontiers web resource (https://sibbm.zanichelli.it/) edited by Zanichelli, which collects a series of contributes on virus biology and more. “Starting from the origin and molecular biology of the virus to its clinical manifestations, passing through the epidemiological characteristics till the psychological and social impact of the pandemic, this web resource represents a comprehensive view of the SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 world and how it changed our lives”, and is available both in English and in Italian.
The SIBBM/Zanichelli SARS-CoV-2: Research Frontiers web resource (https://sibbm.zanichelli.it/english/, https://sibbm.zanichelli.it/italiano/) aims at providing clear, yet non technical information about SARS-CoV-2 and Covid-19. Taking advantage of the scientific contribution of Italian scientists belonging to different disciplines, the web resource has been designed in particular for students and teachers from universities, but it is also directed to everybody looking for a reliable source of information, reported, as much as possible, in a non-technical language.
The whole project was coordinated by Barbara Illi (CNR, Rome), who also the introduction along with many chapters, and myself.
